Timeless Buenos Aires: History, Heritage & Artistic Expression
Begin your exploration in Recoleta, one of the city’s most elegant and storied neighborhoods. Your first stop is the Floralis Genérica, a giant metallic flower sculpture that opens and closes with the sun—an emblem of Buenos Aires’ creative spirit. From there, continue to the famous Recoleta Cemetery, final resting place of Argentina’s elite, including the legendary Eva Perón. Wander through a labyrinth of elaborate mausoleums, statues, and marble crypts that reflect the city's European influences and rich history.
Just outside the cemetery, you'll have time to stroll through the Recoleta Artisan Fair, where local craftspeople exhibit handmade jewelry, leather goods, artwork, and other treasures, perfect for a unique souvenir or gift. Then, step into one of Latin America’s most prestigious cultural institutions: the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. Home to an impressive collection of European masters such as Goya, Van Gogh, and Rodin, as well as important Argentine artists, this museum offers an inspiring look at the country’s visual arts heritage.
You’ll have free time for lunch, and upon request, we can make a reservation at a top local restaurant. *subject to availability.
We’ll continue to the colorful neighborhood of La Boca, famous for its vibrant houses and tango heritage. Stroll along Caminito, the lively street adorned with colorful buildings, where you can enjoy street performances and local art. Learn about the neighborhood’s unique history and the Italian immigrants who contributed to its colorful charm. Then, we’ll make our way to San Telmo, one of Buenos Aires’ oldest and most atmospheric districts. Its cobblestone streets and colonial architecture evoke the city’s rich past. Visit San Telmo market and Plaza Dorrego, the lively square where locals gather for street performances and artisan markets.
Then, as a special highlight, you will experience a metal local artist's workshop. Start your adventure by entering the artist's atelier, where raw materials are transformed into stunning works of art. Here, you'll witness the intricate craftsmanship, dedication, and passion that go into each piece, gaining insight into the artist's creative vision and techniques. Observe the metal being molded into captivating forms, and explore the tools and workspace where imagination takes tangible shape.
After delving into the atelier's hidden treasures, you'll be invited into the artist's private gallery — a beautifully curated space where their masterpieces come to life. Among these, you’ll have exclusive access to a unique collection: the replica of Eva Perón’s iconic jewels, originally crafted by this very artist for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Evita. A true privilege and a window into Argentina’s cultural legacy, reimagined through the hands of a master artisan. In this elegant setting, you’ll be treated to a refined Argentine wine tasting, served in artisan-crafted gold and silver goblets, a celebration of the country’s rich winemaking tradition, elevated by the artistry of the moment.
In the evening, you will be transferred to a local Milonga for an exclusive Tango and Folklore Class with a professional instructor, immerse yourself in the passionate rhythm of Argentina, as you mingle with the locals, savor exquisite cuisine, and enjoy the vibrant energy of this elegant cultural celebration.
Your private tango instructor, a seasoned maestro with a deep connection to the dance, will welcome you with warmth and expertise.
